Free Halo: Infinite Multiplayer by Microsoft

Source: Microsoft

E3 is in full swing and Microsoft launched a 90 minute presentation going over many of their huge projects for the upcoming years.

New game announced! Redfall from Arkane Studios was revealed. The developers of Prey showed off their new four player multiplayer shooter. The cast has a variety of weapons and abilities that they use to fight vampires. All we have seen was a cinematic trailer, but a launch for Summer 2022 seems exciting!

Starfield is getting more and more exciting. After Microsoft's major acquisition of Bethesda last year, Starfield has been the big project from the studio. Even though it was leaked as PC and Xbox exclusive 20 minutes before the show, the cinematic trailer showed an intergalactic quest for discovery. We don't have a release date yet, but it will be their biggest project yet.

Halo: Infinite will have free multiplayer. Halo: Infinite is slated for later this year, and the biggest set of news we heard is that the multiplayer will be free separate from the campaign. The industry standard is free to play with seasons passes. They showed old game modes with new ones as well. We will see how the Halo franchise fairs in this new era of gaming.

For those who own the Microsoft Game Pass, most of these games will be available day 1 on the service. Microsoft had a ton of amazing games offered, so for PC or Xbox owners there is a deep pipeline for the near future.

PSG.LGD Wins Animajor Grand Final

PSG.LGD sweep Evil Geniuses 3:0 in the Grand Final of WePlay AniMajor. PSG.LGD left no chance for the Evil Geniuses in the grand final of the second major of this season in Dota 2. During the first match, PSG.LGD, with the help of Axe, simply annihilated their opponent, leading the score 1:0. However, the Evil Geniuses started the match much more actively. Every minute their advantage grew and reached its peak at the 40th minute mark. Within minutes, PSG.LGD destroyed the opponent's throne for the win. Tired and discouraged, the Evil Geniuses were unable to offer any resistance during the third match. Just like their first match, PSG.LGD managed to put the squeeze on the opponent in just over 30 minutes, forcing them to concede with "GG".

With all of the different events going on at E3, here's a recap of this weekend's events.

Ubisoft's Forward

Along with the new game themed off the movie Avatar (more on that below), the company released news on the following games:

  • Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is set to expand its world even larger than before with its new 'The Siege of Paris' expansion
  • Rainbow Six Siege is getting a new defensive operator as well as quality of life improvements to the game
  • Rider's Republic has updates on its 6v6 mode, as well as first-person sports
  • Rainbow Six: Extraction is being released soon. This will be a spin-off of Rainbow Six Siege, and will be set in a world fighting against extraterrestrials and other creatures
  • Far Cry: Season 6 takes a look at some returning past villains from the game
  • The new Mario x Rabbids mashup is set to be released on the Switch next year, and will be a followup to its predecessor from 2017, 'Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle'

Among their announcements, the also talked about their movies and other projects. The company also released a sneak peak of their new movie, 'Werewolves Within', which is set to release in theaters on June 25th, 2021. The movie will also be available to stream on July 2nd, 2021. Lastly, Ubisoft's music learning service, 'Rocksmith', will becoming an interactive streaming service called 'Rocksmith+', which users can access an expanded library and progress tracking.

Ubisoft Announces Game Based Off The Movie Avatar(no, not the last Airbender)

Source: Ubisoft

About 12 years after its theatrical release, the James Cameron film 'Avatar' is getting its own full-fledged game. The follow-up sequel movie, Avatar 2, is set to be out in theaters on December 16th, 2022. While there is only an approximate time span of 2022 as the release date for the game, it's likely that it will be released on or close to the release of the second movie. The timing of the announcement is rather well done when paired alongside the new movie announcements. Avatar is very clearly old news at this point, so randomly bring up news of a game 12 years later would make no sense without the sequel. The full title of the game is 'Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and is described to be an 'action-adventure game' by the developers at Ubisoft.

Here's a quick movie recap from the movie's official website: "On the lush alien world of Pandora live the Na'vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved. Because the planet's environment is poisonous, human/Na'vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for free movement on Pandora. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paralyzed former Marine, becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with a Na'vi woman (Zoe Saldana). As a bond with her grows, he is drawn into a battle for the survival of her world."

You can check out the trailer above for a better look at the game. The game does a great job of capturing the mystical designs of the movie world within itself, as well as offering an engaging first-person world view. From the animal designs to the NPC's the game is already looking stunning. We're hoping that the gameplay is just as stunning and alluring as the design and art itself.
