Quick Drop Media

The latest schedule for E3 is out, and we have that as well as some other details for you later on in the newsletter. With the sheer lack of in-person events due to the pandemic, we're all excited for any gaming event that comes our way. As the larger companies gather together for a phenomenal fest of games, teasers, trailers and panels, we'll be on our toes ready to accept any news that comes our way.

Today's Drop is a ~5 min read!

Stocks Hold Steady

Source: Google Finance. This is not investment advice.

A calming day for gaming investors as there wasn't much dispersion between returns. While we saw some small growth and decline from the above stocks, the majority of them saw no sharp upward or downward trend. This week has been mildly volatile for the gaming industry since Monday, with some rallying more than 10%, so having a more steady day is great for those just looking to HODL.

E3 2021 Final Broadcast Schedule Released

Source: E3 2021

We got so hyped as soon as the promising schedule of broadcasts was released. While they did cut it very close to the date, it's still just as exciting to see. Among the most prominent of events is the Take Two interactive panel, where folks from the company will talk to fans and discuss news, games and more. There have been rumors of a Marvel-themed XCOM the team is developing, so any news on that subject will be a huge plus. Nintendo Direct will also be present during the event, and hopefully that means we'll get some news on upcoming games and releases in the near future. Check out the full schedule above.

Huke and SlasheR Return to LA Thieves Roster

The LA Thieves have officially announced that both Huke and SlasheR will be returning to their starting CDL lineup, ahead of their Stage 4 Home Series and the Stage 4 Major. Previously, LA Thieves benched firstly Austin ‘SlasheR’ Liddicoat in April 2021, then Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland in May. The Los Angeles Thieves started Call of Duty League 2021: Stage 4 with Carlos ‘Venom’ Hernandez and Zack ‘Drazah’ Jordan in main roster. But after the disappointing start of the fourth stage, the team decided to change players. In the first week, the LA Thieves beat the outsider Seattle Surge, but then lost to Paris Legion (1:3) and Atlanta FaZe (0:3). At the moment, LA Thieves sit at the top of  Group A.

Battlefield 2042 Has Finally Been Announced!

Source: EA DICE

The newest first person shooter from EA DICE entertainment will be playable before the end of the year. Taking place in the near future, Battlefield 2042 will have futuristic weapons and vehicles with 7 different maps in places such as India and Egypt. Matches on new consoles and PC will have 128 players, while the older consoles will have 64. This leads into massive and hectic matches, which will be fun for all players. The game will launch with 10 classes with a promise of more to come. On top of this all, EA DICE decided to remove the single-player campaign, effectively doubling-down on the multiplayer experience.

It's been 3  years since a new game. Unlike its competitors, such as Call of Duty, EA DICE does not release a new game every year. Their previous entry, Battlefield V, was released in 2019. The expectation is that more time creates a better quality product. The marketing and reveal today has generated a great amount of excitement for their newest title. As more companies move to a more focused multiplayer experience, Battlefield 2042 can become a standout in a Battle Royale dominated experience.

Mark your calendar! Battlefield 2042 is set to release on October 22, 2021.

Out Of This World

Source: Heart Machine

From the developers of Hyperlight Drifter come an all new RPG, Solar Ash. Developed by Heart Machine, the game is currently still slated for release in the general window of 2021. While it is disappointing to not know when we'll be able to get our hands on the new game, we're always happy to let a studio take its time to push out their masterpieces. Their previous game, Hyperlight Drifter, has been available since 2016 and is definitely something to look into if you enjoy the classic pixel-style RPG.

Solar Ash is a space-themed, futuristic RPG. It starts with you exploring the vast world of the unknown. You will discover a massive world of wonder and excitement, face difficult challenges and puzzles, and engage in thrilling combat with enemies and bosses of all shapes and sizes. Will you be able to learn the secrets of the mysterious world around you, as well as yourself? For a better look at the gameplay, art style, and environment, check out their announcement trailer here. The visuals, landscape, and combat maneuvers are already super enticing, so we're hoping the story and gameplay will follow suit.

Be sure to check out E3 at its debut next week. We'll be reporting more on the event as it approaches, as well as cover some of the top news and teasers as they are slowly revealed.
