S&P Sets Record High As $GME Plummets
Stocks finished very high yesterday with the S&P 500 at a record. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.06% to 34,466, and the S&P 500, as shown above, was up 0.47%. The Nasdaq was up by 0.78%. The rise of meme stocks, Reddit activity, and stock trading apps, have all contributed to the rapid growth in trading this past season. Despite news of the inflation slump, most stocks still rose or maintained their values. Gaming stocks in general seemed to remain rather steady, with some very mild growths and losses. However, $GME went against the grain and plummeted by a whopping 27%, contradictory to most other stocks as well as the S&P trend.

The biggest announcement? Elden Ring, a game we have been getting teasers about for what seems like years, has an official release date of January 21, 2022. May not have been a big surprise, but exciting none the less.
This is just the start of all the video game news we have coming over the next few days.
GuardiaN Returns As A Trident's Stand-in
The legendary AWPer Ladislav 'GuardiaN' Kovacs reunites with Seized, one of his former NAVI teammates. After a year of inactivity and a break from the competitive CS:GO, GuardiaN returned to the pro scene, joining the Trident Clan. It is reported that GuardiaN will act as a stand-in for the coming tournaments for now. Note that the former GuardiaN NAVI teammate Denis 'Seized' Kostin plays in the Trident Clan.
GuardiaN and Seized played together for Natus Vincere from December 2013 to July 2017. These two players have won numerous tournaments and also reached the finals of MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 and DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015. After that, GuardiaN moved on to FaZe Clan, where he played for two years, and Seized played in various teams from the CIS region.
Trident's Current Roster:
-Timur "clax" Sabirov
-Aleksandr "glowiing" Matsievich
-Evgeny "Norwi" Ermolin
-Denis "seized" Kostin
-Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács (stand-in)
The first tournament for GuardiaN as part of the Trident Clan will be the European Development Championship Season 4, and the Copenhagen Flames will be their first opponent.
EA : Gaming Source Code Stolen Following Hacking of Information
The major gaming company just had around 780GB of source code stolen from its database. Source code is defined as "a version of computer software which is usually much easier to read and understand than the end version in a finished product, and could be used to reverse engineer parts of the product." The hackers reportedly were able to break into the company's databases and steal code for FIFA 21 and game engine Frostbite. It is currently unknown if more was able to be retrieved during the process. This news is rather troubling considering the fact that gaming companies not only have code and information about their games, but about their players as well. Companies like EA often have players' emails, phone numbers, home addresses, IP addresses, and payment information that could all be stolen, and quite frankly it's ridiculous that a company this large could have such a data breach.
EA released the following statements:
"We are investigating a recent incident of intrusion into our network where a limited amount of game source code and related tools were stolen," an EA spokesperson said in a statement...No player data was accessed, and we have no reason to believe there is any risk to player privacy."
They did not expect "an impact on our games or our business". Law enforcement has also been contacted. The "network intrusion" was not a ransomware attack and had happened recently, EA added.
Genshin Impact Releases 1.6 Updates
Set off on a tropical beach adventure. The 1.6 update gives players a new limited time adventure revolving around little Klee, who has a marvelous and heroic quest to fulfill. The quest is mainly set around the series of archipelagos in the game, though they are rather hard to get to without a lot of patience and hard work. Along with this, players can also unlock a new outfit for their characters, including Barbara and Jean assuming they already own them.
Lastly, the game will include a brand new character, Kaedehara! He will be wielding the anemo element in the game (even though we all know Sucrose is the best anemo girl), and will be the fourth five star character with that element. His combat style is said to be very 'versatile', and that he'll be able to both fight and buff his teammates during battle. His signature move will do initial bursts of damage a small cloud of wind that will continue to do damage following the initial attack. Most of the other anemo characters have an attack that will do a continuous amount of damage for a short time, but it won't remain behind after the attack starts. This makes his attack rather unique in comparison to the Traveler's tornado, Sucrose's butterfly attack, and Venti's whirlwind tunnel. While he's obviously not rated yet, we think he'll definitely be a sought after character following his release.
