Overwatch Director Leaves Blizzard

Source: Blizzard

After an incredible 19 years, Jeff Kaplan has officially left his position at Blizzard as director for Overwatch. Prior to his work as director, he also worked on World of Warcraft and some of the game's expansions. He reported that he really enjoyed his time at Blizzard, and will definitely miss his team. Many avid players considered him to be the go-to figure when they thought of the game. The role will be assumed now by previous assistant game director Aaron Keller.

What does this mean for Overwatch 2? The company has reported that Overwatch 2 is still being developed at a good pace. The game currently still has no release date or other major news in that regard. However, we do know there will be:

  • new heroes
  • new co-op modes
  • new maps
  • new passive bonuses
  • weapon changes and updates
  • tank changes

There will likely be many, many more updates as the development progresses. Until then it is uncertain how the change in directors will affect the future developments of both Overwatch and its successor, however we're keen on seeing what will happen as the company welcomes its new director.

Bio Just Got a Whole Lot Cooler

Source: Twitter, @Biomutant

Third person combat is king. Alright, that might be subjective, but it's pretty cool. Biomutant, a new adventure action game, has put a whole new spin on the classic third person combat. It adds martial arts combat to your belt along with melee weapons, powers, and ranged shooting. This allows players to experience a wide range of movement compared to other games that feature hand-to-hand combat, while also allowing players to mix and and match tons of combat options to find their perfect style. Now some people may think that even that may options will still get boring, but the developers were prepared for that. They've added combat progression that allows players to learn new moves throughout the game, as well as different NPC masters that teach their own special moves.

Change your look as you go. One of the coolest aspects of this game is that it allows you to collect various different pieces of machinery and prosthetics to build and customize your character's appearance all throughout the game. Parts will be scattered all throughout your journey, and you can mix and match as you find them in order to create the perfect build for optimal combat.

Wide story arcs allow for tons of content. There will be multiple NPC's that the character can interact with, and as you continue interacting with different characters, you will gain more story arcs and mission quests. The ultimate goal of the game is to save the dying Tree of Life and keep the forest from completely collapsing. Think you can do it?

The game has a set release date of May 25th, 2021, and will be available on Microsoft Windows, PS4, and the Xbox.

The worlds first online gaming con with an entire Virtual MMO. The 3-day online convention features a massive MMO to allow users to attend. GCO, also known as Game Con Online, by Xyphien LLC, had it’s first debut on May 1st – May 3rd 2020 originally as eTableCon. After that one made a huge splash with its success and praise, eTC began to work and plan events for spring and fall for the years to come. Deciding to really go out of the box and try something new, they created an entire MMO specifically for the purpose of allowing players to have a sort of 'in person' experience. They also then changed from eTC to GCO, and began to incorporate various other facets of gaming.

Users can attend the entire convention's MMO for $5, and can also join their Discord or follow them on Twitter for more updates for free. The convention is slated for April 30th-May 2nd, and will feature online activities, gaming competitions, and more! Find out more about them here.
