Hearthstone Ironforge Masters Tourney Winner Crowned
We covered the Hearthstone Masters Tournament a while back, and you can find it here. Recently, the winner for the first installment, the Ironforge tournament has been crowned! Huang “KZGXiaobai” Dehui demolished the competition and won the last end of the bracket with 3-0 finish, becoming the first winner of the 2021 tournament. He came away with the Masters trophy and a whopping twenty five thousand dollars, outplaying the other 389 members in his division. Check out the entire battle recording here!
After going 8-1 in Swiss Rounds, Xiaobai secured his spot in the Top 8 by defeating Hearthstone Grandmaster Wesley “lambyseries” Seek 3-2. He was able to continue that momentum in the 3-2 quarterfinal win over Kenta “Okasinnsuke” Sekiguchi. His victories continued on and he was able to dominate Marco “Turna” Castiglioni 3-1 in the semifinal leg of the tournament. Xiaobai’s decks that were used to name him the ultimate champion were Zoo Warlock, Whirlkick Rogue, and Libram Paladin. The decks were able to easily net him the 3-0 victory over his opponent despite Maverick's initially solid finishes in other parts of the bracket. In a stunning display of skill and talent, Xiaobai utilized his versatile lineup to claim the championship, despite predictions from both Darroch “Darroch” Brown and Jia “Jia” Dee that the match would go the full five rounds rather than just the 3.
Despite new card sets in the game, Libram Paladin and Zoo Warlock still remain as incredibly solid decks that have adjusted over time, each one being able to step up and survive against some of the other harsh decks. If you want to know the makeup of the winning decks, you can find them here along with his Enrage Warrior, which wasn't used in the final showdown. The first games of the Grandmasters Tournament are starting on April 9th, so be sure to check those out and see who'll come out as the Grandmaster!
Time to sail the seven seas with Sea of Thieves! Sea of Thieves is an open-world ocean exploration game. Sail the oceans by yourself or with a crew and complete missions to find treasure! You control a pirate in first person view, and control your own ship. The game is somewhat rogue-like, and if you die in the game, you will start over with a new ship on a new island. Your ship is large, and comes with canons, multiple sails, different floors, and places to store all of your loot.
Fight, forage, and have fun! Each island is different, though most have the basics of sand and some flora. Often times, you'll run into various enemies like skeletons or other pirates that you'll take down using melee combat. There are all sorts of barrels, boxes, and chests that contain treasure, food, or other fun items that you can grab and take with you on your voyage. If you're not into fighting and just want to have fun exploring, you can do that as well. Though be warned, the seas are unforgiving, and often have challenges that you'll need to beat in order to survive.
Pirate Puzzles? Count us in! The islands in the game often have hidden alcoves and caves that contain different puzzles and mysteries that you'll need to solve before you can get the treasure. Often times, learning how to navigate islands with features like volcanoes and lava is a puzzle in itself. The other great feature about this game is that it has a multiplayer mode, so you don't always have to be alone when you're solving puzzles and exploring the seas. Regardless of what you enjoy in a game, we're sure that Sea of Thieves will be just what you're looking for. There's no time to waste, let's set sail!
