$SLGG Says GG To The Market
Super League Gaming ($SLGG) - Despite the large drop yesterday, $SLGG received good news over the past week that it would be added to a Russell Microcap index on June 28th. The CEO released his statement:
"Joining the Russell Microcap Index will strengthen our existing foundation of institutional ownership, benefitting our shareholders with improvements in liquidity and visibility, as we continue to build our leadership position in the Esports industry."
Activision Blizzard ($ATVI) - Has recently been at odds with its shareholders regarding compensation for its executives, also known as its Say-On-Pay proposal. The company had just yesterday finally reached a consensus with the lowest recorded majority vote of just 54%, barely passing the proposal for the changes in executive pay. $ATVI was on the decline all of last week following the constant delay in the decision, so the small increase in price yesterday may have been a result of the consensus.

Xbox Custom Controller Lab Reopens
After the service's long break due to the release of Xbox consoles, Microsoft is finally reopening the custom controller lab. For those of you who haven't heard about this awesome service before, the Xbox custom controller lab is exactly what it sounds like. People can custom design their own controllers with different color combinations to fit their exact wants. Microsoft stated it has now added three new colors to the design choices: electric volt, pulse red, and shock blue. There are a total of 18 different colors to choose from, as well as new black text for the buttons. Lastly, the company has stated it will start incorporating recycled plastic into its controllers, which is a positive sign that they may start to incorporate recycled plastic into their other products in the future. The company has released the following statements regarding the service:
"Most of our color options are made with plastics containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials by weight. These color options will reduce the amount of waste plastic that ends up in landfills and ensure we are all doing our part to take care of the planet...Our team is hard at work developing new processes, testing new materials, and innovating so that we can continue to evolve the Xbox Design Lab experience.”
You can order one of these bad boys for $69.99. Currently, you can only customize the standard Xbox controller design, but we're hoping they'll add the elite design to the list in the future. Check the service out here.
Hearthstone Masters Dalaran Winner Crowned
In a stunning, methodical battle, Wang 'ShuiMoo' QuiHao finished first in the Dalaran tournament. His combination of deck builds were very strong and are currently huge in the meta, with the three being Rush Warrior, OTK Demon Hunter, and Miracle Rogue. Rush Warrior has been extremely popular in the tournament so far due to its matchup spread against a lot of other stronger decks, even during mirror matches.
While QuiHao did finish off the tournament 3-0, his final game is perhaps the most exciting. Both players had a Rush Warrior deck, so the game was set to be a pretty interesting mirror match. Each one shuffled their opening hand back into their deck entirely, though QuiHao's was arguably worse starting off. OmegaZero dominated the board early game with multiple dormants, despite QuiHao's hand buff on turn 3. Luckily, a few turns later he was able to do an almost full board clear with Blademaster Samuro, dealing 5 damage across all minions following the hand buffs from earlier. OmegaZero subsequently began to lose the tempo in his hand, and began to lack the endgame cards necessary to deal the last few points of damage. Finally, in a concede-inducing move, QuiHao foresaw the possibility of OmegaZero having only one minion in his hand and was able to obliterate it using Mutanus the Devourer, tossing a massive 15/15 on the board. OmegaZero only had two cards in his hand at that point, with no method of card draw or removal of the 15/15, and conceded to QuiHao.
QuiHao has won this match with $25k in hand. Be sure to stick around for coverage of Season 2 as it progresses!
MOVIES AND GAMES
Doom(2005) Movie Review
We bet a lot of you didn't even know there was a Doom movie. With, yes, Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson. The movie, mostly based off of Doom 3, was released back in 2005 and is one of those movies that are so bad they're good. Essentially, the scientists on a city on Mars are getting attacked and call for help. Once guards reach, the team tries to protect the scientists and transport them back before they are killed by mutant creatures that were given a 24th chromosome. Unfortunately, the movie just barely touches on any of that information. Eventually, they end up getting that mutant gene injected and have superhuman strength and Dwayne Johnson turns rogue and starts killing everyone, so they blow him up along with the entire city on Mars.
Oh yeah, it's a train wreck. Movies based off of games are always sort of a hit or miss, because the point of a game is to play it, not watch it. This movie also really doesn't explain a lot and sort of jumps in to a mishmash of a plot that is ended rather inexplicably. A lot of the one liners in this movie are just so bad that they're pure gold, and of course Dwayne Johnson just being who he is is always a treat. If you're looking for a way to totally confuse anyone who's a fan of the Doom games, this movie might just be for you.
