Twitch Introduces 3 Strike Ban Policy

Twitch is still receiving backlash regarding a lot of its banning policies, to the point where it's received lawsuits from over half of the states in the US. In April of this year, for example, a streamer won a lawsuit after they were banned for fraud. Later, it was found that there was no fraud, and the company really took the heat for the ban. However, it seems like the response from the gaming community is doing its job, because now they're beginning to change their ban policies.

The new DMCA strike policy states that a user who has three copyright strikes on their name will be labeled as a repeat infringers. Their Twitch services access will then be terminated following that. Streamers that receive these strikes should also take note that they are not actually permanent. There is a large amount of time between each strike that needs to pass before the company will decide if the user is actually engaged in a repeat infringement, though it is not explicit to how long this period is.

This policy is no dissimilar to Youtube's policies, and will likely result in less bans of streamers overall. It will also hopefully make the company think harder about each strike. The biggest change people are actually looking for, which was brought up in a recent California lawsuit, is the use of better ban reasoning. This new rule will hopefully be a step in the right direction.

Anubis Gaming Wins VALORANT Red Bull Campus Clutch - World Final Stage

Source: redbullgaming

Egypt's Anubis Gaming wins against Project S 3:2 in the grand-final of Red Bull Campus Clutch - World Final Stage. The Red Bull Campus Clutch is a tournament, hosted students from over 50 countries, with the final taking place in Madrid. Project S, a team from Portugal, won the first map 13:8 and crushed 13:0 on the second.

But what happened next is nothing short of a miracle. Anubis Gaming found the strength in themselves to rebound the opponent on the third map with a score of 13:2. On the fourth map, Anubis continued to dominate the opponent, winning the first half on Breeze 11:1. Project S tried to come back in the second half, taking seven rounds in a row, but faltered late in the match to land all square.

And so we got to the fifth, decisive map. Not unlike the first two matches, Project S won the first two games, and were close to winning this final on a clean sheet, but Anubis Gaming found the strength and evened the score. Anubis won the first two rounds, then Project S won the next three. Anubis won the remaining seven rounds in the first half, and then put the squeeze on the opponent in the second, winning with a final score of 13:3 to close the tournament.

For the first place, Anubis Gaming receive €20,000.

The new alien invasion season is now in its seventh week, and there are quite a few new updates, features, and a new event. With version 17.20 having been released yesterday, there are multiple new features on every platform that players should be aware of.

One of the features added in today's update is the long-awaited preferred item slot preferences feature. Found in the Game Tab of the Settings menu, players can now choose which inventory space they want a picked-up weapon or item to be dropped into. There will also be Bugha's Late Game Arena mode. It's going to be listed in the playlist selection screen, and is in celebration of Bugha's addition to the Fortnite Icon Series. This new mode has teams of three put onto a map with a storm closing in immediately. The players will each get one of nine random loadouts, and they players will earn Hype if they complete certain tasks like elimination of opponents. If you get at least 1500 Hype before 7/28, you will be eligible for a tournament with a $100,000 cash prize! A new pride event, Rainbow Royale, has also been added and will go until 7/27 at 8PM EST. There will be free rainbow items and a Take A'Bow emote.

Just as well, keep watch for are the mass amounts of bug fixes:

Amazon’s 'New World' Launches Beta

Pre-purchase New World on Steam
Source: Amazon Games

In recent months we have seen a resurgence of the Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) genre. In June, World of Warcraft Classic released its Burning Crusade expansion. Final Fantasy XIV has reached record numbers in every region causing server issues and was “sold out” for a short time. Amazon is set to release their new MMO, New World, at the end of next month.

Amazon Games is looking for their first big success. New World takes place on the island of Aeturnum where the humans, undead, and earth elements fight against the Corrupted as they attempt consume new and old worlds. Expeditions and the Outpush Rush game mode will be available in this beta to help players learn how New World sets itself apart from others. However, your data will not carry over to the full release version. Joining the closed beta is incredibly easy, all you have to do is preorder the game on Amazon and Steam. We have not seen much from Amazon Games yet. Their previous game, Crucible, stopped receiving updates and support only 6 months after the game’s release. Hopefully, this game will provide a better experience for players.

For those interested, the beta lasts until August 3rd. If you are not sure you want to pre-order it, many streamers will be playing it over the next two weeks. As of right now, New World will be launching on August 31st.

Have a wonderfully wacky Wednesday!
