We're in the midst of the national Air Conditioning Appreciation days. What would gaming be without AC? Our systems would overheat, our controllers would get far more sweaty than they ever could be, and our gaming chairs would probably start to stink after just a few days. Let's hear it for that cool indoor breeze.

EA Play Live Provides Solid Updates

Source: EA Games

EA usually has a showcase during E3. However, they decided to wait a month this year. They recently had their EA Play Live where they wanted to give the community updates on the projects they are working on.

There was a massive surprise at the end. The immersive driving franchise Grid is back with Grid Legends. The gameplay seems as explosive as ever with a bigger emphasis on the single player experience.

Their newer IP Lost in Random is a stop-motion video game where fate is determined by six-sided die. You follow a pair of sisters as they navigate fate.

The new season of Apex Legends Emergence was announced to begin on August 3rd. A new legend named Seer will also be released who is a recon character with drones.

EAs most recent hit, Knockout City, is releasing their second season on July 27th. The theme will be movies focusing on cinema based maps, skins, and  challenges.

We saw more from the highly anticipated Battlefield 2042. They showcased the Battlefield Portal which allows the player to  create their custom levels and modes using content from past games as well.

The big reveal was the Dead Space remake. While it was rumored in the weeks prior, fans were more than excited to see a new Dead Space game remade from the ground up.

EA has been polarizing in these recent years. However, they decided to focus on their strong points and games to psych up their community for the upcoming months.

1,000 Blizzard Employees Condemn Company's Harassment Responses

The sexual harassment allegations against Blizzard and Activision are still going on, and currently they've put themselves into even more hot water. Over 1,000 employees signed a letter regarding the company's responses, calling them 'abhorrent and insulting' among other things. The letter was strongly worded, including these statements:

"We, the undersigned, agree that the statements from Activision Blizzard, Inc....are abhorrent and insulting to all that we believe our company should stand for. To put it clearly and unequivocally, our values as employees are not accurately reflected in the words and actions of our leadership."
"We believe these statements have damaged our ongoing quest for equality inside and outside of our industry. Categorizing the claims that have been made as “distorted, and in many cases false” creates a company atmosphere that disbelieves victims. It also casts doubt on our organizations’ ability to hold abusers accountable for their actions and foster a safe environment for victims to come forward in the future. These statements make it clear that our leadership is not putting our values first. Immediate corrections are needed from the highest level of our organization."
"We stand with all our friends, teammates, and colleagues, as well as the members of our dedicated community, who have experienced mistreatment or harassment of any kind. We will not be silenced, we will not stand aside, and we will not give up until the company we love is a workplace we can all feel proud to be a part of again. We will be the change."

We're hoping that these allegations will continue to open the eyes of the company and allow it to begin to change its ways.
